Fairpark Grill should open in late September, according to its construction company.

Gerald Warfield, president of Southland Construction, which is building the Fairpark at Main project, said they are finishing the inside of the Grill and expect to install the kitchen equipment in two weeks. The restaurant is on the east of the building that’s on Main Street across from City Hall. The menu emphasizes wraps and burgers.

Park Heights will open up on the west end of the building six to eight weeks after the Grill opens, Warfield said. The original timeline called for a four-week lapse. He attributed the delay to decor changes (read more about what the restaurant will be like). In addition, the restaurant now is adding a wood deck to the rooftop dining area. And, the 8-feet-tall doors are still on backorder, he added.

In the next few weeks, expect to see workers painting the bricks at Park Heights’ new location and then putting in an underground sprinkler system and parking lot. Read tomorrow’s paper to find out how the heat could impact this process.
