Sweet Peppers Deli opens in West Starkville
Starkville, MS -- January 10, 2006
Sweet Peppers Deli opened it's doors this morning on Highway 12 in West Starkville. Following a successful invitation only event on January 9th to benefit the United Way of North Central Mississippi, the restaurant opens with rave reviews from attendees from last night's big event. All proceeds from the grand opening party are being donated to the local United Way chapter. "This is a great way to show the community that we care about it's residents and enjoy giving back," stated Bernard Bean, one of the founding members of the Sweet Peppers Deli concept.
In 1997, Robin Fant, John Bean, Bernard Bean, and Myrrl Bean created the Sweet Peppers Deli concept. There are currently seven Sweet Peppers Deli restaurants that are both company and franchisee owned located in Columbus, Tupelo, Starkville, and Hattiesburg, MS and Memphis, TN. In 2006 there are plans to open between three to five more locations by the end of the year.
"Starkville has been great to Bulldog Deli and we are excited to offer our new concept in Sweet Peppers Deli to the patrons in the West Starkville area and beyond," stated Robin Fant, who created Starkville dining favorite, Bulldog Deli, the inspiration for Sweet Peppers Deli. "The location is convenient and the management team we are bringing in are top notch and excited about serving both our new and loyal patrons."
Sweet Peppers Deli offers a menu based off of the Bulldog Deli menu with salads, soups, signature sandwiches, panini (Italian pressed sandwiches), wraps and scrumptious desserts in a unique atmosphere including wireless internet service, neon signs, glass garage doors, and outdoor eating.
